Magic ring transforms gawky tween into Ben Grimm, bad puns and all
I know, it’s a shock - network TV execs, a group known for their impeccable taste and the utmost respect for their viewership, in a rare lapse of judgement approved this bizarre program, making the experience of growing up in the ’80s just a little more surreal.
Confession: as a kid I totally lived for this show, simply because it was an era completely opposite from the one in which we now live: that is to say, finding a comics character anywhere outside those dot-matrix colored pages was nearly impossible. Power Records had come and gone, and it would be another 20 years or so before a decent super-hero film finally saw the light of day.
Simply put, you took what you could get.
